Good Morning Members of Riverside Region
I hope this message finds all of you in good health and spirits. The world and our region have changed so very much in the past three months. I will try and get you caught up with PCA National and PCA regional news.
On the National front:
PCA is putting its final touches on a virus waiver form known as the “Communicable Disease Exposure and Infection Assumption of Risk, Hold Harmless, Release, Waiver of Liability, and Indemnity Agreement.” At this moment, it will be a form that is signed once each year—stating that you, as an individual, understand the risk of the COVID -19 and other infectious diseases. I hope to find out the status of this form soon. If we have a member that is an attorney or a retired attorney, I’d like to have you read it over and give me your opinion.
Most events on the National level have been either postponed or canceled. Please check the National calendar for upcoming events and changes on the PCA national site (https://www.pca.org/events).
The other news is PCA is making a big push for Sim racing (Simulated racing). There have been many races that have occurred that you can view online. The drivers that participate in these races are all skill levels (rookies, armatures, and professionals). Once again, more information is on the PCA National website (https://www.pca.org/news/2020-03-03/sim-racing-its-time-go-racing-again).
Also, PCA national has lots of activities for the juniors. Please sign up your junior online (https://www.pca.org/pca-juniors).
On the Riverside region front:
It looks like Autocross (AX) will return 19 July 2020. We will need volunteers for the setup and tear down of this event. Any person that would like to lend a hand, please contact Kraig Strom or me. One of the most significant changes to this event is there will be NO SPECTATORS! Drivers and volunteers only (subject to change).
Our monthly breakfast at both Grammas Country Kitchen and Rick’s Desert Grill is still on hold due to restrictions place on them by California’s physical distancing rules and the number of people that can be inside of the restaurant due to the virus. If any member has a place that we can meet and keep our physical distance, please contact me.
On the driving tour front, we have several drives planned once we can get together as a large group. At this moment, PCA national has this on hold. We cannot get insurance at this time (subject to change at any moment). Hope to see you on the road as a large group soon.
Any member that has had a change of address, please contact PCA national. They are the only ones that can change your address or any contact information. You can also update, renew, add additional members to your membership.
I hope to see all of you soon at an RsR event. Please stay safe and healthy.
Drive safe, drive a Porsche!
Xavier Palmer, President, RsR PCA
