Change Lives and Inspire Young Minds.
Call for Support during the Riverside Police Department Breakfast Social this Saturday!
The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office takes juvenile crime very seriously, and we are committed to trying to reduce crime by preventing it before it occurs. If we can steer young people away from crime, we can reduce crime and at the same time, improve the lives of these young people. Many young people lack positive role models, or fail to obtain the positive role models that they need to encourage them to make positive choices in life. This event will be an opportunity for our successful Porsche owning PCA members to briefly interact with young people within their county, and provide a positive message.
There will be approximately 25-30 adolescents who will be attending. These minors have been selected because they have been identified by their schools as potentially at risk for not completing school or at risk to engage in delinquent behavior. None of these minors have been charged with a crime, rather, we are taking proactive steps to prevent that from happening.
Our goal is that some PCA members would be willing to share with the group how they developed into a successful member of society. It may involve a story of how they were successful in their education, opening or running a business, or any other aspect of their live where they have persevered and become successful. These would be small casual talks of 5 minutes or less.
We are hoping that these young people will see the connection between hard work and success – which can lead to owning a car like a Porsche. It is sometimes difficult to encourage a young person simply by telling them to work hard – but if they see a tangible item that they want – like a nice car – it may be enough to motivate them to work hard for what they want.
We will have coffee, donuts, and other breakfast type snacks/food items available for all participants.
Members should also be willing to talk about their cars – and engage in some fun car talk with people interested to learn about their cars. If a member wants to let any attendees take pictures of their cars, or sit in them – that is at the discretion of the member.
The event will NOT involve any driving or giving any rides to attend
